Seery is a TV series tracking application designed to help users search for TV shows, manage their personal libraries, discover new content, and keep track of upcoming episodes.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Seery processes, how it interacts with our shared backend, and how you remain in control of your data during our public beta phase on Apple TestFlight.
Seery requires authentication using Apple's "Sign in with Apple" framework to verify your account securely as an iOS and iPadOS user.
This authentication process is handled directly through your Apple ID, and your credentials are never exposed to our systems.
Seery routes requests through our secure, shared TypeScript backend application to fetch TV show data. However, Seery is entirely database-free.
Your personal library, tracked shows, preferences, and tracking history are not saved or stored in a persistent database on our servers. Your data remains private and stays locally on your device.
To provide accurate TV show information, Seery queries public data from trusted third-party services, specifically TMDB (The Movie Database) and TVmaze.
These API requests are handled by our backend as a proxy to fetch metadata, artwork, and episode schedules. No personally identifiable information is shared with these external services.
Information related to the TV shows you add, search for, or view in the Library, Homepage, and Discover tabs is processed strictly to deliver the app's tracking experience.
Because this information is stored locally on your device, your personal viewing habits are not tracked, monitored, or profiled by us.
The Upcoming page displays scheduled air dates for TV shows in your library. When you tap the bell icon to set a reminder for a specific episode, this activity is handled entirely on your device.
Reminders are scheduled as local iOS/iPadOS notifications. We do not use remote push notifications, and reminder times are never sent to our backend.
Seery does not sell your information and does not use third-party advertising networks or behavioral tracking systems.
Your search terms, tracked shows, and notification schedules are completely isolated from advertisers and marketing profiles.
Seery is currently available as a public beta via Apple's TestFlight program in App Store Connect.
Any crash logs, diagnostics, or feedback you choose to share through TestFlight are governed by Apple's TestFlight Terms and are used exclusively to fix bugs and improve performance before our official App Store release.
Since your tracking information is stored exclusively on your device and no personal information is saved in our backend databases, you retain total control.
Simply removing or deleting the Seery application from your iOS or iPadOS device permanently erases all local application data, tracked series, and scheduled reminders.
This privacy policy may occasionally be updated to reflect new features, platform updates, or adjustments to how our shared backend communicates with external APIs.
Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
