Meet VoxTerm
VoxTerm is a mobile terminal and remote development workspace built for the work that happens beyond a desk. Save SSH hosts, keep multiple terminal sessions alive, organize reusable projects and commands, replace command tokens at run time, browse and edit remote files over SFTP, and customize the terminal environment around the way you actually work.
One Connected Workspace
VoxTerm connects hosts, persistent sessions, reusable commands, project workspaces, remote files, and terminal preferences into one mobile development environment. The pieces you use repeatedly stay attached to the work they belong to instead of being rebuilt each time you reconnect.
Terminal Sessions
Create named sessions from saved hosts, run them side by side, minimize them, restore them later, and manage their connection state from a dedicated sessions experience. VoxTerm keeps each terminal view persistent so the buffer survives while you move elsewhere in the app.
SSH Hosts
Add and manage SSH hosts with names, hostnames, usernames, ports, favorites, and password or key authentication. Passwords can be kept in Keychain when you choose, letting familiar machines stay ready without making you re-enter the same connection details every time.
Projects
Create projects with a name, purpose, host, working directory, notes, icon, and reusable command set. Search them, favorite them, duplicate them, archive and restore them, or open the full project detail experience when you need the context behind the terminal session.
Commands & Tokens
Save commands at the session or project level, name and explain them, edit them later, and run them directly from the terminal workflow. Commands can include named tokens that VoxTerm asks you to replace at execution time, so one saved command can adapt to changing values.
SFTP Workspace
Open the SFTP workspace from a connected terminal to navigate remote directories with breadcrumbs and search, create files and folders, rename or delete items, refresh directory contents, and open editable files without leaving the host you are already working on.
Remote Code Editor
Remote files open in a Runestone-powered editor with line numbers, line wrapping, monospaced editing, syntax highlighting, manual save, debounced auto-save, and external-change detection before overwriting a file that changed remotely. The same SFTP connection bridges the editor directly back to the machine.
Terminal Controls
VoxTerm adds a terminal-focused accessory toolbar with Done, Ctrl, Esc, Tab, saved Commands, and common control characters. The command field stays connected to the live terminal while session and project commands remain one tap away when repetitive shell work needs to move faster.
Everything Else
The Home page surfaces recent hosts, active sessions, recent projects, and quick actions for creating or returning to the parts of VoxTerm you use most. Active-session state is visible throughout the main app so live connections never disappear into the background.
Sessions have both a dedicated list and detail flow, while the active sessions sheet makes current connections accessible from elsewhere in the app. You can resume, minimize, disconnect, or remove sessions and create additional sessions from saved hosts.
SSH hosts support password or key authentication, with optional Keychain storage for remembered passwords. VoxTerm also includes its own sign-in experience for the account-facing parts of the app.
Search projects by name or details and filter between active, favorite, and archived workspaces. Project editor and detail views handle the deeper configuration, while context actions support duplication, favoriting, archiving, restoring, and deletion.
The command editor keeps names, shell commands, explanations, and execution behavior together. Insert named token placeholders while editing and let VoxTerm collect replacement values before running the command from either project or terminal command flows.
The SFTP browser adapts between an iPhone navigation stack and an iPad split view. Search the current directory, follow breadcrumb paths, create files or folders, rename and delete items, refresh contents, and open files directly into the remote editor.
VoxTerm includes dedicated Profile and Settings areas, plus selectable themes with terminal previews and color swatches. Theme changes flow through the app's terminal, host, session, project, and editor interfaces so the workspace can match the environment you prefer.
